Being from Cleveland…
is something to be proud of. One day it hit me that the place I’m from had a profound impact on not only my life, but on the lives of other people from Cleveland, many of whom have achieved greatness. I bet you can name a few. In sports, entertainment, science, philanthropy, industry, education, and politics, you will find that People From Cleveland have left their mark. This blog is a celebration of people from the city built on the shores of Lake Erie. People from Cleveland are Dope!

Things that make being from Cleveland dope…
“The Land” offered us a little bit of everything. We enjoyed winter snow, summer heat, the colors of fall and the spring thaw. We had a Great Lake (Erie) and a crooked river (the Cuyahoga). There was no shortage of professional sports because we had NFL, NBA, and MLB teams to cheer on. We had one of the largest malls in the country and multiple venues for concerts and other events. The Cleveland food scene was and still is, pretty phenomenal. Many schools were exceptional. Institutes like Karamu House, University Circle, and The Cleveland Playhouse gave us cultural perspective. The “Emerald Necklace” of the Metroparks bound us together, even if we separated ourselves into east-siders and west-siders. Even if we left to find our futures elsewhere, we still have cherished, fond memories of Cleveland.
